The Clinical Social Worker in the Emergency Psych Services team at Boston Children’s Hospital provides critical support to patients and their families by conducting biopsychosocial assessments and implementing trauma-informed interventions. This role involves collaboration with healthcare teams and community agencies to create and follow up on treatment plans while addressing personal, family, medical, and environmental difficulties. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work and possess strong clinical skills, with Spanish proficiency being a beneficial asset.
Boston Children’s Hospital’s acclaimed Social Work Emergency Services team responds to social needs and issues in the Emergency Department and throughout inpatient services. This includes performing biopsychosocial assessments, as well as implementing trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions. We also provide management and advocacy for both patients and families.
This Emergency Psych Service Social Worker will be responsible for:- Providing clinical social work services to assist patients and families with personal, family, medical and environmental difficulties.
- Performing psychosocial and risk assessments, assigning diagnoses and developing and implementing interventions and treatment plans.
- Participating in planning and implementation of discharge and outpatient service plans and collaborating with health care team and community agencies to plan, implementing and following up on treatment and provision of needed services.
- A Master’s degree in Social Work, an LCSW or LICSW is required.
- Strong clinical skills and experience with various therapeutic modalities.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.
