Multimodal Group, LLC has been a long-standing staple in the trucking community since 1986.  The company operates across various modes of transport including truckload and intermodal, offering a seamless and integrated service to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods. Its expertise lies in coordinating and managing complex logistics operations, catering to diverse client needs with customized solutions.  As the company continues to grow and move forward with drayage increases we are looking for a highly motivated, independent dispatcher to cover the 2nd/night shift. This role is key to coordinating the movement of freight, managing driver dispatch to ensure timely delivery of goods while effectively communicating with customers. The ideal candidate will have a background in trucking or the intermodal industry and will be able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment with excellent communication and critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles in addition to the local railroads. Schedule and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs. Communicate proactively with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders regarding updates and issues. Ensure appropriate communication to customer accounts involving any additional accessorial fees (port wait time, stop offs, pre-pulls, etc.). Coordinate with third parties to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries. Handle urgent situations and provide solutions to minimize disruptions. ~ Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Familiarity with hazardous materials, overweight, DOT regulations and BIT program requirements. Address customer inquiries professionally and promptly, maintaining positive relationships and high customer satisfaction. Collaborate with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Assist with special projects and ad-hoc reporting requests from management. Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and customer service. Minimum 1-2 years port drayage experience, with knowledge of the Port of LA/LB, including terminal websites. Minimum

Education:
High School Diploma required. Knowledge of local roads and freeways in Southern California. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Vacation time off, Paid Holidays, medical, dental, vision, company paid Life and Long-term disability, and additional options. 8 hour shift ~ Monday to Friday; Overtime and weekends as needed
