Field Based Radiologic Technologist at DispatchHealth Management summary:

As a Field Based Radiologic Technologist, you will provide mobile diagnostic imaging services by performing portable x-rays and potentially other tests such as EKGs, in various facilities and patient locations. This role offers a flexible schedule, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work independently while ensuring quality patient care. You will be responsible for operating imaging equipment, adhering to safety principles, and communicating with healthcare providers to facilitate accurate diagnostics.

As a mobile radiologic technologist, you’ll:

 

Use a company vehicle equipped with a compact, portable x-ray machine (DR), and drive locally to x-ray patients in different facilities throughout your shift to support patient populations from adults, geriatrics, women, and children. Depending on the market you may also utilize EKGs, Holter Monitors, and Pacemaker Checks.   • On-site training offered, willing to train a new grad RT or limited x-ray scope tech

What You'll Do:

Your day-to-day experience as a mobile radiologic technologist will include:

 

  • Travel by vehicle to perform portable x-rays in a variety of settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, correctional institutions, residential homes, and other patient locations.
  • Determine proper electronic and technical factors based on patient needs.
  • Follow ALARA principles for reducing radiation exposure.
  • Prepare accurate physician and patient orders and transmit reading as required in a timely manner.
  • Set, adjust, and operate a variety of electronic equipment to obtain diagnostic images that may include EKG’s and Holter Monitor.
  • Ensure the equipment is available and in working order (in the vehicle) prior to shift start and shift end.
  • Assist with order taking, validation of studies, communication with reading radiologists, customer call-backs, and other administrative and customer support functions as directed.
     
What You Need:
  • Meet all state-specific and federal requirements to perform portable x-rays, including one or more of the following:  
    • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiologic Technologist RT (R)  
    • Limited Scope X-ray Operator — in accordance with State-specific requirements  
    • State x-ray license (if applicable) 
  • Has a valid state-issued driver's license and maintains a good driving record
  • Ability to move or lift equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs easily while carrying equipment
  • Ability to work a varied schedule that may require evenings, holidays, and weekends.
