Ultrasound Tech Job Details

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Ultrasound Technician Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited program in cardiac sonography or diagnostic medical sonography

Minimum 1 year of experience in echocardiography or recent graduate with registry eligibility

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Vascular Specialist, or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist

Ultrasound Tech Responsibilities
Perform transthoracic, stress, and transesophageal echocardiograms, providing quantitative data for physician review

Acquire and report findings for 2D/3D imaging, M-mode, spectral Doppler, color flow Doppler, and strain imaging

Conduct exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography

Assist with pediatric echocardiography and specialty/research studies

Support physicians and nurses in transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), including probe care and data processing

Start and troubleshoot IVs, administer agitated saline and echo contrast as indicated

Communicate critical results to ordering physicians promptly

Initiate CPR and assist during medical emergencies

Maintain and stock equipment and supplies in the echo lab

Participate in on-call duties and general administrative tasks
