Our cutting-edge technology and innovative financial products empower businesses with more control and flexibility, enabling them to deliver seamless digital experiences, drive customer loyalty, and build long-term value.
Octane supports merchants throughout the sales cycle: connecting dealerships with high-intent buyers, driving transparent, fast, and easy closings with award-winning technology, and providing on-going customer care with superior loan servicing.
Founded in 2014, Octane supports over 60 OEM partner brands and over 4,000 dealer partners, and has a team of over 600. We’re looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our cross-functional Strategy BI team. In this role, you will collaborate directly with business leaders to turn data into clear and actionable recommendations. You will work with teams across Operations, Risk, Servicing, Finance, Product, and Sales, tackling their highest-priority questions as we enter our next stage of growth. The right candidate has a strong business mindset, sharp problem-solving instincts, and the ability to distill complex analysis into something any business partner can act on. This position is preferably based in New York City, but remote candidates will also be considered.
Work on analytical projects end to end, helping to scope the approach, dig into the data, and generate recommendations that the business can act on.
Build and refine models that surface what’s driving a team’s performance and why, so that teams can plan with confidence.
Perform ad hoc quantitative analysis as new questions arise and proactively surface opportunities for growth or improvement.
Collaborate with Data and Analytics Engineers to ensure the right data is delivered to the right places and is accurate.
2+ years experience in strategy, analytics, or related quantitative fields; Comfortable working with data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI) to support analysis
Experience with SQL and/or Python. Experience with Databricks is a plus.
Expert in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides, with the ability to build clear, persuasive narrative from data.
Interest in using AI tools to help solve data or analytical problems.
Ability to build analytical stories, using data and visualizations to drive impactful insights that lead to action.
Ability to juggle several cross-functional projects and stakeholders at once.
Business minded: able to connect data to what actually matters based on stakeholder priorities and company goals.
Able to break down ambiguous, open-ended business questions into a structured plan of attack, and manage multiple concurrent workstreams for different business partners
Collaborative and proactive, able to build trust with business partners across departments and drive projects forward without heavy oversight.
Skilled communicator who can distill complex analysis into simple, actionable stories for non-technical audiences.
Flexible and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
In addition to salary, Total Rewards include a stock option package, and benefits as outlined below. Your offer will be based on location, the alignment of your qualifications with the requirements of the job and internal equity.
