Surgical Technician – General Surgery at Providence summary: The Surgical Technician supports general surgery procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile conditions, assisting the surgeon and circulating nurse, and caring for surgical instruments and specimens. Candidates must be nationally certified and have completed a Surgical Tech program, with preferred operating room experience. The primary duties of the Surgical Technician include: being prepared for and knowledgeable of the surgical procedure to be performed, setting up and maintaining a sterile field, assists surgeon as necessary, assists circulating nurse and other members of the surgical team, maintains familiarity, function and proper care of all OR equipment and instruments.
