Scope:
Nuclear Medicine Technologist responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing multiple types of gamma cameras, utilizing proper injection techniques while injecting radioisotopes.
- Perform IV puncture and administer radiopharmaceuticals via IV when indicated.
- Prepare exam room, communicate with the patient, obtain informed consent when necessary, and request an accurate clinical history as necessary for the exam.
- Receive patients, explain method of examination, and position patient.
- Select appropriate imaging techniques and protocols to complete the exam.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and other medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School; or a minimum of one (1) year minimum related experience and/or training, required.
- Current ARRT (R) (NM) or NMTCB as CNMT registry, required.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required.
