Senior Network Integration Engineer Telecom M&A
Position: Senior Network Integration Engineer Telecom M&A
Location: Houston, TX strongly preferred (nearby areas considered)
Travel: Client site visits twice a month, plus extra trips as needed
About the Role
We're looking for a senior network and telecom operations leader to bring acquired networks into one enterprise environment. You'll size up what's been acquired, plan the target architecture, move systems and data onto central platforms, fold monitoring into one NOC, line up field operations, and run cutovers safely, while keeping engineering, IT, field teams, and corporate development aligned.
What You'll Do
Network Assessment & Architecture
- Review acquired network infrastructure across access, backhaul, core, and interconnection; flag end-of-life hardware; and build risk registers and cost models ahead of consolidation.
- Map out and document the move from current-state to target-state architecture across routing, switching, and CPE platforms.
- Lead the decision process on whether each acquired platform or component is kept, migrated, integrated, or retired.
OSS/BSS & Provisioning
- Move network inventory data, customer service orders, and subscriber data from legacy systems onto central platforms.
- Standardize and connect automated provisioning flows, including ONT activation, configuration, and service fulfilment.
- Work with IT and billing teams to tie OSS and BSS together for a smooth cash-to-service flow.
NOC Integration & Monitoring
- Set up interim monitoring over VPN, MPLS, or direct interconnect so acquired networks are visible from Day 1.
- Bring acquired components fully onto the enterprise NOC platform within target timelines (for example, 120 days after close).
- Standardize alarm pipelines, telemetry metrics, syslog, and SNMP traps so everything flows into central triage queues.
Field Operations & Runbooks
- Combine workforce management tools, truck roll triggers, and CPE swap processes.
- Merge separate runbooks, escalation rules, change management templates, and SLA tracking into one enterprise framework.
- Align spare-parts strategies across warehouses, equipment staging, and local technician staffing.
Cutover & Governance
- Write detailed Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and migration schedules with solid rollback plans.
- Review overlapping software licenses, support contracts, and transport leases to capture post-merger savings.
What You Bring
- 15+ years in network engineering, telecom operations, or infrastructure systems, including 3+ years focused on M&A infrastructure integration or large-scale data center/carrier migrations.
- Expert knowledge of OSS/BSS frameworks, network inventory databases, configuration and provisioning platforms, and fault-monitoring tools (such as SolarWinds, Grafana, Splunk, or vendor EMS platforms).
- Strong grasp of IP routing protocols, transport backhaul, security infrastructure, subscriber access technologies (such as GPON/XGS-PON, Fixed Wireless, or Metro Ethernet), and vendor platforms like Cisco, Nokia, and Calix.
- Deep understanding of the incident response lifecycle, SLA governance, and field service dispatch integrations.
- Excellent ability to coordinate across engineering, IT, field operations, and corporate development teams.
