ER RN Job Details – Columbus, OH
Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department Observation Unit
Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Charting System: EPIC
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent emergency room nursing experience
Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required)
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Experience with EPIC documentation preferred
Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
ER RN Responsibilities
Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department Observation Unit
Manage telemetry, dysrhythmia, PCU/stepdown care, and rapid response team utilization
Perform blood product administration, tracheostomy management, wound care, and wound vac procedures
Utilize non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, oxygen therapy)
Document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare support teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy)
Float to similar nursing units as needed
