Job Description:

This position operates a CNC lathe to make parts, mechanisms, tools or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Works under general supervision and following established instruction. Performs assignments requiring general use and application of concepts, practices, and techniques.



Essential Functions:

Fabricate piece parts per work instructions, drawings, and specifications through the use of required machine tools.
Inspect piece parts per work instruction and drawing requirements.
Operate machine tools and machine energetic materials remotely.
Use, adjust, clean and store tools, machinery, and equipment used.
Keep records and reports of the use of equipment.
Assist in making estimates of the time and materials required to complete an assignment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work weekends and off hour shifts to maintain schedule as needed.



Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior machinist experience or 2 years post Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior machinist experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology

Manual/CNC experience

Familiarity with machine tools and equipment, machine shop procedures and practices, principals and properties desired
Knowledge of basic mathematic principles to solve problems is preferred
Ability to work in a team environment and relate to all levels of employees
Have a valid driver's license
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Ability to work flexible schedule
