The new Mercy Hospital Fort Smith Dedicated Education Unit is an 18-bed unit focused on teaching eager and upcoming graduate nurses the fundamental skills necessary to be successful. We are looking to build a team of highly engaged nurses who have a passion for education, patient care, and best practices. This unit will care for Medical Telemetry patients with a 4:1 patient to nurse ratio (day shift only). Each nurse will act as a preceptor to two senior level nursing students who will take total care of the 4 patients. A clinical rotation preceptor will also be available for support/oversight of the students. By joining the Dedicated Education Unit at Mercy, you will have a direct impact on the future of nursing, while progressing your leadership skillset for YOUR future in nursing

Med Tele Details:
Bed numbers: 18 beds
Number of Patient Ratio: 4:1 & 6:1
Patient Population: tele and med/surg
This unit will become an educational unit with the opportunity to precept nursing students
Incentives:
Education Pathway: LPN to RN
$10,000 in Assistance for LPN to RN
Up to $20,000 RN Loan Forgiveness
Tuition Reimbursement $2,000 per year
Relocation Assistance up to $3,000 per policy

New Increased Weekend Option Differential: $7.50 RN/$5.50 LPN
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support Certification through an American Heart Association approved program
