Position Goals: Oversee the functional duties of building custodians as assigned, provide direction, train and model the proper expectations to ensure all job duties are carried out and a clean environment is maintained. Lead will also model the correct behavior by maintaining a clean and safe interior and exterior environment in various buildings and grounds on campus, perform light maintenance while assisting staff with various requests to allow for the smooth operation of education services. Respond to all custodial requests in a professional and timely manner. Effectively communicate with all OCS community members as well as supervisor and Leadership.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee functional duties of building custodians; provide direction, train as needed, and ensure job functions and expectations are being met on a daily basis
- Effectively communicate in a timely manner with direct supervisor, highlighting successes and areas of improvement to light, while providing recommendations and solutions to improve efficiencies.
- Model the Odyssey Mission, Vision, Goals and Filotimo Pillars to others
- Vacuum, mop, sweep, etc. all floor areas including classrooms, offices, restrooms, etc.
- Sanitize, disinfect and clean all restrooms including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, partitions, dispensers, dryers, etc.
- Restock supplies as necessary including paper towels, toilet paper, sanitary bags, etc.
- Perform general cleanup of all interior and exterior areas of the building as directed
- Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green space, and parking lot to include weed control, debris pickup, mulching, etc.
- Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
- Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up
- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
- Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor and school administration.

- Minimum of Two years experience directing others work.
- Three or more years proven custodial experience in a diverse environment
- Ability to execute job responsibilities under minimal supervision
- Proven experience with and knowledge of institutional and/or commercial cleaning duties
- Proven experience with and knowledge cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds and constantly moving items correctly and safely;
- Frequent kneeling, bending, crouching, and reaching;
- Frequent handling of various sizes and weights of items.
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- Ability to communicate effectively;
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals;
- Reliable transportation;
- Valid driver's license;
- Neat and clean appearance
- Ability to work with others in a professional manner
- Proven ability to take direction from others and complete tasks on time
