Radiation Therapist Per Diem

Position Responsibilities:
  • Performs technical tasks associated with the localization of tumors.
  • Review dosage calculations for accuracy prior to radiation treatments; delivers prescribed dosage of ionizing radiation to patients undergoing therapy.
  • Observes and reports changes in patient's condition to Lead Radiation Therapist.
  • Records treatment administered on patient's chart.
  • Prepares examination room; explain procedures and assist patients in preparing for examination or treatment.
  • Reviews set-up of equipment and patient positioning.
  • Assists other radiation therapist in planning treatment involving the use of dosimetry procedures and isodosing curves.
  • Monitors adherence to radiation safety factors on the unit.
  • Maintain equipment in safe and satisfactory working condition; stock and replenish supplies as required.
Qualifications:
  • CRT License and ARRT License required. CRT License and ARRT must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • 2- 4 year degree in ARRT approved radiation therapy program.
