This bustling private practice, 70 miles east of Nashville, is seeking board certified/board Neurologist to serve as a Neuro-hospitalist. The regional medical center is a primary stroke center, serving a mix of general neurology, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, stroke, brain injury and ALS patients. There is also an opportunity to conduct sleep studies if interested. Full-service regional hub providing most surgical services, including Neurosurgery.


WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Only Work 17 1/2 weeks per year
  • Join Two Other Neuro-Hospitalists
  • 1 Week On, 2 Weeks Off
  • Typical Day on site is from 7:00A -6:00P
  • Call is mostly patients already in house or new admits
  • No overnight ED call. Covered by Vanderbilt Tele-Neurology
  • Average of five to seven new consults per day & 9-10 follow up consults
  • Trauma transferred to Nashville, Chattanooga and Knoxville
  • Primary Stoke Center
  • Hospital EMR is Paragon
  • ED census of 53,000 per year
  • State-of-the-art neuro- imaging capabilities (MRI, CT, CTA, Nuclear Camera & PET), evoked potentials diagnostics, EEG & EMG

The medical center is a 247-bed regional referral center, servicing more than 350,000 residents in the region. With over 200 physicians in 40 different medical and surgical specialties, the hospital offers patients the same kind of care they can expect in a larger metropolitan area including specialty services that include cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac and thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, pulmonology, cancer treatment, orthopedics, physical rehabilitation, and neurosurgery.

The city is only 80 minutes from Nashville and serves as the county seat. The city population is over 33,000, with services that cover 14 counties and a catchment area of 350,000.
