A premiere testing laboratory is seeking a full-time Lab Chemist. The primary responsibility of this position
will include developing, overseeing, and validating all testing services. This will be a position to enable the
lab to continue to expand in the metals testing industry.
Typical responsibilities for this position include:
- Adhere to ISO laboratory practices
- Author and validate SOPs for testing metals ensuring that SOPs comply with all requirements set
forth by accrediting organization(s).
- Assist Technical Director in preparing the laboratory with accreditation standards and for future
audits. Further, candidate will be required to assist and implement corrective actions created by
the QA manager.
- Optimize all metals testing services on all of the analytical instrumentation listed above.
- Final review of all metals technical data before client distribution.
- Be involved in the improvement, validation and/or transfer of new analytical procedures.
Job Requirements
This position requires that the candidate has prior and extensive knowledge as it pertains to analytical
instrumentation, such as: ICP-OES, ICP-MS, XRF, extensive knowledge of Spectro Analytical equipment
is preferable. The candidate must be familiar with techniques such as: Electroplating, Titrimetry,
Gravimetric Methods, Ion Exchange Separations and Solvent Extraction. Experience is defined as
developing and optimizing analytical testing methods for compounds that need to be detected.
Candidate must have a minimum of 3yrs of management experience as it relates to a regulated QA/QC
laboratory. Candidate must also be able to implement and follow upper management policies, visions,
and goals allowing the company to continue to be a premiere laboratory in the world.
Qualifications:
- At a minimum, this position requires a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. A Master"s Degree in
Science (MS) in analytical chemistry or an analogous area of study is preferred.
- Candidate must have over 5 years of experience in Lab testing, as it pertains to method
development and validation in wet chemistry and instrumental chemistry.
