Library Custodian PT

Overview:

Blackfoot Public Library is seeking a reliable and dedicated Custodian to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for our patrons and staff. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the library is in excellent condition. With the option to work either Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. Cleaning must be completed before the library opens or after it closes. Under the supervision of the Library Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Restroom Maintenance: Clean and sanitize 2 public restrooms on a regular basis.
• Lobby Maintenance: Perform lobby upkeep every other month.
• Water Bottle Filling Station: Decalcify and clean the water bottle filling station as needed.
• Vacuuming: Vacuum approximately 10,000 square feet of building space.
• Mopping: Mop floors as required.
• Garbage Removal: Empty and remove trash from all areas of the library.
• Window Cleaning: Clean minor windows as needed.
• Staff Kitchenette Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness of the staff kitchenette.
• Facility Security: Secure the facility, including having keys to all main floor areas.
• Other Duties as Assigned: Complete additional tasks as required to ensure a clean and orderly environment.

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Must be able to work before the library opens or after it closes.
• Reliable and trustworthy with a strong attention to detail.
• Must have the ability to lift and move items as needed.
• Flexible and willing to perform various cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned.
