Role Overview

The Nepsis team is growing rapidly and is adding a Corporate Paralegal role to the team The person in this role will work with internal and external counsel to build out our legal document library, draft and white glove various contracts and documents for clients, and assist leaders in projects as the company continues to grow. The person that will thrive in this role will have an interest in building and scaling systems in a growing firm, take initiative as part of the larger team, and complete all work and interact with clients, contacts, and team members in a highly professional and confidential manner.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage an effective contract database and recordkeeping system.
  • Develop and maintain current contract and document libraries including Master Service Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Subcontractor Agreements, Statements of Work, Change Orders, and more based on the needs of our offerings.
  • Work with area leaders to prepare initial drafts of contracts and white glove final drafts for presentation.
  • Support corporate legal initiatives which may include real estate, opening new business locations, mergers & acquisitions, and research projects as assigned.
  • Assist internal and external counsel with responses to subpoenas, complaints, or any other legal action involving the company.
  • Work within a team to build out new offerings, including a Trust and Estate offering to external clients and a Corporate Secretarial function for internal and external clients.
  • Support compliance efforts with the operations teams as assigned.
  • Undertake special projects to create efficiencies within the legal team.
  • Stay informed and up to date on all legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the firm.
  • Actively participate in professional development activities.

Necessary Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and able to work with cross-functional teams both internally and externally.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite Software.
  • Able to learn new industries and software quickly.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in paralegal studies
  • 3 or more years of experience in a paralegal role
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in business or another closely related field of study
  • 5 or more years of experience in a paralegal role
  • CP or MnCP credentials
  • Experience in an in-house paralegal role
  • Experience working in a professional or financial services company, especially wealth management, tax services, or financial consulting
  • Experience with Thompson Reuter's software including Onvio, CS, and CP

Working Environment & Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate. Client and internal company information is highly confidential.

The essential functions of the Corporate Paralegal role will require the employee to be able to communicate verbally with others. The employee will often be required to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer and other office equipment. The employee will occasionally be required to stand, move, reach, and lift up to 20 lbs.
