Business Support Analyst Lead

The Business Support Lead role serves as a practice lead that oversees identification and implementation of efficient and effective procedures and communication protocols. This role also serves as a point of escalation to a diverse group of Business Support Analyst to insure timely response of business requests and inquiries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Act as a point of escalation for team members to resolve urgent and/or complex issues in a timely manner.
• Work with Business Support Manager to create vision and establish practices to facilitate that vision.
• Train Business Support team members in team practices.
• Ability to quickly prioritize work for team and triage new requests or incidents.
• Understand breadth of business and corresponding processes and systems. Use this knowledge to support others as well as identify opportunities as well as avoid issues.
• Mentor, advise, and support Business Support team members to put them in a position to be successful.
• Lead or mentor team members for more complex and critical Production support incidents.
• Contribute to training material and/or instructions for team members.
• Develop an understanding of the end users' current business processes (within area of support).
• Understand how system(s) functionality complements business processes.
• Prevent business impact due to issues.
o Actively monitor systems for indicators of issues.
o Identify patterns/trends that may become a problem.
• Own production issues and coordinate/lead resolution.
o Troubleshoot production application issues raised by business users to determine root cause.
o Coordinate across appropriate business and IT teams to determine root cause and ensure appropriate individuals take necessary steps to remediate issue.
o Take point on communicating with business stakeholders during issue and once resolution is achieved.
o Maintain knowledge base for functional area.
• Initiate system improvements.
o Create bug when application does not function per approved requirements/design. Lead user acceptance testing of bugs with business stakeholders.
o Propose enhancement opportunities to business analysts.
• Complete knowledge transfer with Business Analyst for efforts approved for production.
• Complete production data changes.
• Provide updates on status of assignments (progress, milestones, issues).
• Adhere to IT processes, including but not limited to:
o Change Control.
o Security.
• Participate in Release Management meetings (when applicable).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Formal Degree in Business or Information Technology preferred.
- 3+ years in a Business Analyst, Technical Support, or closely related role.
