We are hiring a Maintenance Coordinator on 2nd shift (3:00 - 11:30pm)

Primary Job Objective

This position is responsible for supervising, planning, and scheduling maintenance, reliability, and facility repairs and improvements through the utilization of EAM. Duties also include providing technical assistance and guidance to maintenance personnel and/or contractors to enhance the performance of the department.

Fundamental Responsibilities:

Minimizes cost and equipment downtime by effective coordination of maintenance activities. Notifies maintenance of any broken or malfunctioning equipment. Generates work orders for repair as needed. Coordinates and prioritizes work activities to safely and efficiently maintain equipment reliability. Coordinates with production, engineering, maintenance and reliability engineering personnel the need to take any equipment out of service for repair. Upon any major repair performed by maintenance before going back into service, the coordinator will notify reliability engineering/Pd.M. Tech. to perform inspection and approving release of the equipment. Adjusts schedule to allow immediate response to avoid unnecessary equipment downtime. Establishes and maintains PM's for all plant equipment. Works closely with tool room personnel to order and stage project parts and equipment prior to maintenance employees starting their jobs. Updates Dayforce time records and assures employees are following all organizational procedures and policies.

Administratively supports the Maintenance team goals by keeping accurate and thorough records. Maintains equipment lists, equipment files, and manuals for new and existing equipment. Creates and modifies documented procedures. Maintains records and equipment information using EAM and Mechanical Integrity Web Site.

Observes all safety and environmental guidelines while handling products, raw materials and wastes. Acts as a standby when maintenance personnel does confined space entry.

Takes a lead role in assigned special projects in an efficient and cost-effective manner as directed. Assist with packaging lines and on occasions operate the Oden line.

Perform inspections as required to support Maintenance and Reliability Engineering.

Supervisory Responsibility

Serves as acting coordinator for the Maintenance employees. Directs employees' daily activities and provides input to Maintenance Director on personnel issues. Provides training and development for union hourly employees.

Knowledge and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10 years related field experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • B.S or B.A. degree is acceptable also
  • Possess a good understanding of company policies and procedures, labor agreements, and safe work practices and procedures
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must maintain certification for wear and use of a respirator, and lock out/tag out, confined space and vessel entry
Working Conditions

This position performs work in the manufacturing areas (to check on projects, perform maintenance troubleshooting or programming, communicate with employees, etc.), subjected to extreme noise and temperature variation, for the majority of the time. When in such environments, this position is required to wear the appropriate eye, ear, head, and foot protection (PPE). Minimal day travel may be required 0-10% of the time. Some work (up to 33%) will be in a controlled environment. Due to deadlines based on equipment availability, might be required to adjust personal work schedule as needed
