We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to patients in various clinical specialties including PCU, ICU, and ED. This position requires adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures, as well as the ability to work within the nursing process to deliver patient care consistent with clinical needs, independent of patient location.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
    • Collaborate with healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans for patients
    • Assist with special tests and procedures and ensure proper consent has been obtained
    • Institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients
    • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families
    • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs
    • Promote patient safety by proactively questioning current policies and processes, identifying and reporting/correcting environmental conditions or situations that may put a patient at undue risk, and reporting potential or actual patient safety concerns and medical errors in a timely manner
    • Adhere to the core expectations of the Patient Centered Medical Home or Patient Centered Specialty Practice as applicable
  • Qualifications:
    • Graduate of a nationally-accredited nursing program
    • Current RN licensure in New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
    • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire)
    • 1 year of directly related experience

Please note: this position is part-time (0.05 FTE) and casual pool. The job requires heavy physical work and may involve hazardous materials that require the use of PPE. As a RN Per Diem I, a minimum of two shifts per schedule is required, including one weekend shift per schedule and one summer and one winter holiday.
