Description

The Oshkosh Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center is seeking a steward to work with our banquet food and beverage team. This individual assists by setting, stocking, and cleaning during weddings, conferences, and special events.

  • Set, stock, maintain, and clean banquet bars, breaks, and buffet lines.
  • Assist with plating up, transporting, dishing up, serving, and tearing down of buffets.
  • Refresh bars, breaks, and buffets in a timely manner with new products based on the product ordered. Continually communicate with the kitchen or bar manager on product usage.
  • Provide exceptional service to members and guests while adhering to their specific event details.
  • Ensure the proper sanitation and usage and good working order of bar and buffet equipment.
  • Use an inventory sheet to log starting, added, and final usage of products during events to ensure accurate recording of beverage usage.
  • Update Food and Beverage Convention Services Manager and/or Food and Beverage Director of low product levels or outages.
  • Perform all duties as directed by the Food and Beverage Convention Services Manager and/or Food and Beverage Director.
Requirements
  • Ability to stand, sit, and/or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping throughout the shift.
  • Professional, clean appearance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, managers, and guests.
  • Ability to work positively and productively with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and the willingness to anticipate and respond to guests' needs.
  • Ability to work a variety of hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
