Position Summary:
The Internal Quality Control Laboratory Inspector will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations and conducting testing on high voltage lithium ion batteries and components. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to various environments. Individual must be a self-starter and be able to work in a fast paced highly technical work environment and adapt to change.
Testing and measurement equipment can range from basic measuring tools (Vernier calipers, multi-meters) to highly complex test and inspection equipment (gas chromatography, CT scan, X-Ray, battery cyclers, environmental test chambers, vibration shaker, module crush tester, oscilloscope, coordinated measuring machine (CMM), OGP Non-Contact CMM.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the set-up, execution, and support of testing activities, including audits and investigations
- Accurately analyze, record and document data, including observations, measurements, and results; escalating non-conformance reports and findings
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including laboratory equipment, instruments, and samples according to laboratory requirements
- Monitor and manage laboratory supplies, consumables, and materials, including spare parts, ensuring adequate stock for ongoing testing
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards including continuous improvement activities
- Assist in training of new team members
- Perform other position related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Basic:
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- While travel is unlikely, the ideal candidate will be able to travel, with reasonable prior notice as required (domestic and/or international)
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required
- Good working knowledge or Microsoft Office
- Basic understanding of hand tools and gauges
Preferred:
- Associates Degree, Technical training, or Military experience with certification in CMM, portable CMM or 3D measuring systems and/or chemistry lab experience
- Experience in cleanroom/laboratory setting
- Knowledge in Physical Sciences (Chemistry or Material Science)
- Electronics, maintenance, science, chemical, or medical field and/or 2+ years in a quality technician role in lithium ion battery testing
- Electro-Mechanically inclined
- Practical use of micrometers, calipers, and other hand measurement tools
- Ability to read drawings, diagrams, and other technical documents
- Experience/knowledge of inspection and auditing
- Bilingual in English and Korean
Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work around the potential exposure to dust and chemicals
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE as deemed essential for the job function
- Ability to lift up to 51 pounds
