The School of Engineering and Computational Sciences, a cornerstone of innovation and excellence at Merrimack, invites applications for two (2) full-time, open-rank, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice /Assistant Instructional Professor faculty positions in Electrical and Computer Engineering. These positions will start in the fall of 2024 and focus on enriching our students' learning experience. As we continue to advance toward our strategic objectives, including launching Ph.D. programs in pivotal areas of engineering within the next 5-10 years, we seek educators who are passionate about teaching and dedicated to our student's success. This presents a unique opportunity for non-tenure track faculty to make significant contributions to these goals through innovative teaching and curriculum development, directly impacting our students' educational journey.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver four undergraduate/graduate courses in an academic semester.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and advancements to ensure course content is up-to-date and aligned with industry needs.
  • Mentor and guide students toward academic and professional success.
  • Maintain regular office hours for student consultations.
  • Actively participate in departmental and institutional activities.
  • Collaborate collegially and professionally to foster a supportive and positive working environment.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of an M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, a Ph.D. in Engineering Education with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in the fields of electrical and/or computer engineering.
  • Demonstrated excellence, or potential for, teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.

Vaccinations and Work Location

This is an on-campus position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community.
