Overview

The Product Specialist will support assigned products or projects throughout their life cycle. This role works closely with members of the Product team and with other departments to carry out initiatives seeking to increase product revenues. Efforts include product improvement, market & customer analysis, sales support, pricing initiatives, and marketing plans.

Responsibilities

• Support product development initiatives with product reviews and knowledge regarding features available, benefits, and how client use and benefit from product features

• Help product managers identify areas for improvement based on sales analysis and customer feedback

• Perform market research using surveys and collection of intelligence gathered by different client facing teams

• Assist Business Development, Technical Support and Product Training teams with product related questions

• Work closely with Product Managers and Management team to create reports on product performance and market trends

• Partner with Marketing team to implement marketing plans and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives for products

• Support the decision-making process with customer, market, competitive, and usage analysis

• Support the selling process and collaborate with Intellectual Property Management, Marketing, Documentation, and Product Training to develop collateral and sales tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred

• 1 to 3 years of Product Development experience within the Insurance, Risk Management, or Financial industry preferred

• Insurance, Risk Management or Financial Services market knowledge is desired including market needs, competitive landscape, methodologies, regulatory landscape, market trends, and client workflows

Skills

• Strong Analytical skills. Being able to analyze data, identify trends and make data-driven decisions

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written): Effectively communicating ideas, recommendations, requirements, and analysis to technical and non-technical audiences

• Technical proficiency in relevant area or product. Familiarity with market and trend analysis

• Organized and detailed oriented: Focus on all aspects of a task, to ensure accuracy and thoroughness

• Problem-solving skills: Identifying and documenting issues in a timely and effective manner

• Collaboration skills: Working effectively with other team members to achieve common objectives

• Effectively manage and adjust tasks, plans and timelines based on evolving priorities, market conditions and unforeseen obstacles
