POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Improvement Coordinator is responsible for assisting clinics in meeting quality improvement metric goals. Responsible for building relationships with leadership and support staff of the physician offices, training of staff, to accomplish established goals of organization as related to quality payment program outcomes.

POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School graduate or GED certificate required
  • MA or MOS certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Medical terminology required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of clinic staff and leadership
• Position requires travel, valid driver's license and vehicle insurance are required

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
  • Two (2) years experience in a busy physician office preferred
  • Must have computer experience and must be able to learn practice IS System
  • Previous experience with an EMR system preferred
  • Experience with Quality Payment Programs (MIPS/ACO/TIPPS/DSRIP) and quality reporting preferred
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills
  • Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgement
Responsibilities:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Participate in planning, implementing, and monitoring the continuous quality improvement programs
  • Conduct and/or assist with chart audits and identifying areas of risk
  • Perform regular EHR audits to ensure clinical staff are completing tasks per established guidelines
  • Document and track all quality assurance/compliance activities
  • Work directly with clinicians and office staff on quality initiatives and education
  • Comply with quality assurance practices
• Work with the LVN/RN Manager to determine quality improvement needs in order to obtain quality measure information
  • Daily communication to management outlining new issues/concerns and detailing progress/recommendations on existing projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned


LINES OF REPSONSIBILITES:

(Chain-of-command) LVN/RN Quality Improvement Manager → 2. Director of Lean Operations → 3. Chief Ambulatory Officer

B. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.

C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
