Billing SpecialistPride Health is hiring a Billing Specialist for one of its clients in Costa Mesa, CA. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of an extension with competitive pay and benefits.Location - Costa Mesa, California (92626)Length of assignment - 6 months (Possibility of an extension)Pay range - $20 - $25 per hour. Shift - Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Job Duties• The Claims Billing Specialist is responsible for responding to inquiries related to claims, eligibility, and authorization and working with multiple parties to ensure records are up to date. • Ensures accuracy, reports issues, and works to resolve them. • Ensures compliance and regulatory guidelines and health plan requirements are met. • Documents actions taken following HIPAA guidelines. • May assist in providing customer service, member services, and others in working with providers/billing offices when needed. Performs other duties as assigned.• May also maintain databases, audit information, and work with patients to process patient payments. • May follow up with insurance companies on outstanding or unpaid claims and create/send statements to patients.Requirements• High School Diploma or equivalent.• Must have at least 2 years of medical billing experience, preferably in a hospital setting.• 1+ years of experience in medical claims.• Experience in and knowledge of all medical billing protocols including HCPCS, ICD-10, and CPT codes as well as EMR system experience.
