20098 - Software Engineer II Montgomery, AL CBU: HMMA PURPOSE: We need a talented Software Engineer level 2 to work onsite in West Point, GA. In this role the new hire will r espond to production problems and implement immediate resolution efforts related Web for North America's business units. Essential Functions: Develops and implements the changes within Web Systems while maintaining the system (20%). - Translating business needs and requirements into specifications (20%). - Develop and maintain system documentation (10%). - Build test scenarios for business procedures (10%) Identify the existing system problems or enhancements which impact production and provide the solutions (30%). - Perform all other duties as assigned by management (10%). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Develop and implements the changes within applications while maintaining the system • Configure the hardware and software of a system • Translate business needs and requirements into specifications • Act as liaison between the department and other business units • Develop and maintain system documentation • Build test scenarios for business procedures • Identify the existing system problems or enhancements which impact production, and provide the solutions • Perform all other duties as assigned by management SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY - N/A DECISION MAKING/DISCRETION -Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships. RESULTS - Ability to present and convey towards various audience types – All levels up and down. STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT - Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. EDUCATION - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software design OR equivalent combination of education and experience. REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years' experience in the IT field, 3 years or more application development experiences, Large/enterprise application development experience is preferred. TECHNICAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: • Strong Knowledge on Java, JavaScript, J2EE/JSP/Servlets. • Extensive Knowledge on SGML/XML/XSLT/SOAP/WS DL/WML. • Demonstrated ability to understand customers business requirements and processes and find solutions to complex and difficult issues. • Strong written and oral communications skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read information. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT -Employee must be able to use a telephone, computer, keyboard, printer, copy machine, Microsoft Word, Excel SALARY: $80,000 to $94,300/yr.
