The Team

We are looking for an accomplished statistical and causal inference scientist to be a creative and collaborative team member, helping develop and drive strategic analytical initiatives. As a key member of Marketing Measurement and Analysis team you will help enhance our adoption and use of statistical and causal inference methods. You ll be a key member of our team driving the future state of our in-house measurement platform. You will help enhance platform methods, work with engineering on implementation, and lead education for adoption. The team will look up to you as a senior subject matter authority in causal and statistical inference. The optimal candidate will have a mix of statistical and causal inference, programming skills, communication abilities, and talent at working with teams. This role can be located in our Boston, MA Smithfield RI, or Westlake TX offices

The Expertise We re Looking For

  • PhD or Masters in a quantitative/field such as Statistics, Biostatistics, quantitative Social Science (not limited to economists), Epidemiology, Public Health, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 1-2 years (post PhD or 5-6 post Masters) of proven experience applying causal and statistical inference to academic and non-academic problems. If academic, please list publications in resume.
  • Postdocs and early career scientists/faculty/adjuncts are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Expert level understanding in potential outcomes causal inference methods such as matching, difference in differences, and synthetic controls. Some understanding of structural causal model and graphical methods is a plus.
  • Expertise in using and explaining statistical inference methods for experimental and quasi-experimental circumstances; ideally using both frequentist and Bayesian approaches.
  • Expertise in explaining causal and statistical inference methods to non-technical partners.
  • Experience working on cross-disciplinary teams that include engineers, scientists, and non-technical team members.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in modeling and analysis using Python (preferred) or R. Familiarity with core libraries in either language. R experts must be willing to move to Python.
  • Programming experience in Python or R feel free to include links to public Git repos that demonstrate your abilities. Some experience using libraries like streamlit or Shiny is desirable.
  • Some experience in experimental design and analysis is a plus.
  • Experience querying and analyzing data using contemporary databases such as Snowflake and AWS Athena using SQL (and scripting languages as needed.)
  • Some experience using data visualization tools or libraries.
