A biotech company in California is actively seeking an experienced professional to join their growing team as a Software QA Engineer. In this role, the Software QA Engineer will be responsible for the design of test solutions to verify single cell sorting product software.

Responsibilities:
The Software QA Engineer will:

  • Test basic features of new softer releases using pre-defined test plans and scripts to identify defects
  • Follow uniform testing procedures
  • Document results and uses designated systems and tools to track outcomes
  • Perform follow-up rounds of testing as needed
  • Execute testing procedures to ensure that software meets established quality standards
  • Prepare data sets to test logic, error handling and system workflows.
  • Isolate, reproduce, and track defects; verify fixes
  • Document testing according to required procedures
  • Assist with the content of new testing scripts and plans
  • Ensure that all verification activities are conducted in accordance with Quality System requirements
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of relevant Testing experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or Biomedical Engineering
  • Exposure to Coding or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Version Control systems and Release methodologies
  • Familiar with Software Development cycle and Quality Assurance methodologies
  • Experience executing to verification plans
  • Microsoft Office proficient (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
Desired Skills:
  • Python 3.x programming experience
  • Experience using TestComplete or similar test tool (e.g. Squish, Selenium, etc.) automation
  • Education background and/or experience in biology and life science instrumentation
