What you’ll be working on:

Savers is on the lookout for a seasoned Microsoft Dynamics 365 Principal Software Engineer to join the team, who provides strong technical leadership and delivers value by working with a Development Team in designing and implementing development projects as prioritized by the business. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of hands-on retail expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and proven ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating upgrades, designing technical solutions, and ensuring the seamless implementation and maintenance of our D365 Commerce system to align with our business objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Solution Development: Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of technical solutions within Microsoft D365 Commerce. This includes customizations, extensions, integrations, and workflow automation.
  • Configuration and Customization: Oversee the configuration and customization of D365 Commerce applications to meet specific business needs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Integration: Design and execute data integrations between D365 Commerce and other systems using tools like PowerShell, Power Apps, and Azure Logic Apps.
  • Data Migration: Manage data migration activities, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the transition process.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshoot issues related to D365 Commerce solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including solution design documents, development standards, and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with functional consultants, business analysts, and other technical team members to deliver effective and high-quality solutions.
  • Upgrades and Maintenance: Stay abreast of the latest updates to Microsoft D365 Commerce and assist with system upgrades and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Training: Conduct training sessions for end-users and facilitate knowledge transfer to business teams to ensure effective use of D365 Commerce solutions.

What you have:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar version control systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in programming languages and technologies such as X++, C#, PowerShell, and SQL. Experience with Azure services is also required.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices and solution architecture.
  • Familiarity with agile project methodologies.
  • Strong UX design skills, as well as demonstrating the ability to map out and simply user workflows with the focus on the end-customer.
  • Demonstrates exceptional written/oral communication skills to proactively communicate with peers, manager and customers. 
  • Proficient in reading, interpreting, and writing technical documents, safety instructions, and procedural manuals. Capable of presenting information effectively to groups of customers or employees.
  • Docker & Kubernetes experience desired.
  • Experience in retail environment strongly preferred.
  • Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years programming experience
  • 5+ years working with D365
  • Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365 Commerce are highly desirable.
