JOB DESCRIPTION

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Unit Capacity: 23 Beds Population Served: Heart diagnosis. Sheaths, external pacemaker.

Ages of Patients Served: Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+)

Nurse to Patient Ratios: 4/5:1-based on patient acuity

Department: Stepdown Intermediate Care

Shift Timing: 18:45 - 07:15

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
  • Required minimum of 1 year of cardiovascular experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing required
Requirements:
  • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
