Join our dynamic team as an Automated Distribution Center Operations Manager

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire management of a cutting-edge, fully automated distribution center equipped with advanced technology including overhead automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics, and sophisticated roll handling conveyers.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate daily operations of the automated warehouse and distribution center while prioritizing safety, environmental stewardship, profitability, and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding warehousing, material handling, and shipping; enforce adherence among team members and advise management on necessary actions.
  • Implement and monitor security procedures to safeguard warehouse operations.
  • Collaborate with shipping supervisors to achieve exceptional delivery performance through effective management and communication.
  • Plan, manage, and assess warehouse operations in coordination with internal stakeholders, suppliers, transportation companies, and customers, managing inventory across all fronts.
  • Oversee inventory levels and ensure accurate data reconciliation within storage systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain the physical condition of the warehouse and troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Address maintenance issues in the warehouse while maintaining high service quality and staying within budget.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Process Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
  • 7+ years of experience in warehouse and transportation management.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software, barcode systems, and databases.
  • Experience with inventory management, barcoding, scanning, conveyor systems, and IT.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to deliver consistent messages across all levels.
  • Experience in rail loading and truck loading.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
  • Willingness to travel to plant locations as needed (between 5-10% of work time).
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular hours as necessary.
  • Understanding of safe forklift operation and maintenance practices.
