Overview

Ascend Innovations is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team and help us build products and solutions that enable behavioral health organizations to serve the most vulnerable populations. We work with clients ranging from addiction recovery boards to behavioral health organizations to align data and technology with the design of effective programs, services, and interventions.

This engineering position will work within a small team of talented engineers, interfacing with product/project managers, front-end engineers, and user experience teammates to drive final solution delivery.

Who You Are

  • Proven work experience in web application development
  • Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS (Sveltekit), Python (Django), and SQL (PostgreSQL)
  • Experience in writing clear and concise test plans and test cases
  • Experience with automated testing in a CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions and AWS
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
  • Experience dealing with HIPAA compliance requirements is a plus

As an Ascend Software Engineer, on a given day, you might:

  • Work with Account, User Experience, and Engineering teams to identify requirements

  • Develop full-stack applications, doing front-end and back-end engineering work as needed

  • Create automated tests using tools such as Playwright and Vitest

  • Plan and coordinate testing activities and identify, document, and track open defects

  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
