(IPS)a small, woman-owned defense contractor located in Panama City Beach, Floridais honored to support our Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) customers for more than 20 years. IPS is looking for youan energetic, proactive, experienced Mid-Level Software Developer/Tester with well-established software development experience (3-8 years)to support sophisticated United States naval software systems. The ideal candidate must be technically oriented, quality focused, and committed to become expertly familiar with the complexities of U.S. naval software and associated systems. The range of responsibilities will include but, are not limited to: software development, testing, integration, maintenance, training, configuration management, and formulation of software revision updates and sustainment. Developed product must be in accordance with standard United States Navy and Government instructions, policies, procedures, and standards. This project is exciting, challenging, and interesting and requires the ability to easily adapt to change. Highlights of Responsibilities: Participate in Scrum events led by the government customer. Participate sprint retrospectives and planning sessions. Develop software user stories and participate in grooming sessions for those stories. Perform software development on the governments software products in accordance with the guidance in the Software Development Plan and per the direction of the Scrum Master. Provide updates to software requirements documents, specifications, and other software documents in alignment with software development activities. Employ the Atlassian toolset for participation in development cycles and coordination with other software development team members. Develop and implement algorithms for tactical concepts within the government software. Contribute to weekly and monthly status reports. Requirements: Bachelors degree in information systems or related field. 3-8 years recent and relevant experience. Current CompTIA or Microsoft security certificate or able to complete certification within 30 days of hire. Experience with configuring MS Office, Database, and Adobe applications is required. Experience with MS Windows 7 and 10. Experience with Java in Windows environment (socket operations, Java Swing, mapping software) Experience with Javascript Experience with trouble shooting, maintaining, and documenting software issues. Experience with troubleshooting software issues and employing a ticketing system to track task completion. Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Desired Qualifications: Experience with closed networked systems. Experience with Red Hat Linux. Hands-on experience in a software lab environment. Experience with U.S. Navy and government computer-based systems. Experience using database tools and frameworks such as ProstgreSQL and Hibernate is a plus. Experience with developer toolsets such as: Maven, Git, Jira, Bitbucket and Confluence. Assess and solve problems independently. Able to assess and solve problems independently or as part of a team. Possess strong listening skills to interface with end users. Adapt easily to change and possess great interpersonal skills Able to write and execute procedures. Capable of writing and executing procedures. Able to work with little supervision yet meet critical deadlines. Hands-on experience installing, delivering, and testing software in the field is desired. Travel: No travel is anticipated at this time. Tools and Technology Active directory service interfaces (ADSI), virtual machines, and command prompt/power shell. Host Based Security System (HBSS). Various web-based tools will be used. Working Conditions/Environment: Work will be primarily conducted at NSWC PCD; some work will be conducted at IPS.
