Mechanical Engineer

Position Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer will work to develop medical robots by working with top surgeons and a cross-functional engineering team. The ideal candidate needs to have strong technical skills in mechanical engineering. The position will be hands-on, and the individual must be capable of creative and systematic product development with minimum supervision. The position will require the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
- Applies knowledge of engineering principles to design, develop, and test all aspects of surgical robotic products
- Assists with the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical components
- Supports the creation of product requirements, specifications, and test documents
- Supports the development of manufacturing test fixtures and documentation
- Supports manufacturing, internal testing, and external customers when presented with quality issues; Prioritizes work to identify the root cause and creates a corrective plan that ensures timely resolution of issues
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
- Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
- Represents the company in a professional manner and upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience
- Experience with Solidworks or similar CAD software for design and drafting preferred
- Familiar with a variety of industry concepts, practices, and procedures
- Experience in the Medical Device field is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as a critical contributor in small teams
- Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills
- Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and E-mail
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
- Experience with wearable computing devices
- Experience with extended reality display systems
- Experience in the Medical Device field

- Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
It is required to possess specific visons abilities, including: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and capacity to adjust focus.
