Job Overview:

As a Cloud DevOps Engineer at Bastian Software, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure related to building and deploying the software produced at Bastian Software for the Cloud. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline development, deployment, and operations processes.

Job Functions:

  • Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of cloud-based production system.
  • Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of cloud production systems.
  • Management of creation, release, and configuration of production systems.
  • Evaluation of new technology alternatives and vendor products.
  • System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms.
  • Provision of critical system security by leveraging best practices and prolific cloud security solutions.
  • Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements.
  • Definition and deployment of systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on Cloud platform.
  • Designing, maintenance and management of tools for automation of different operational processes.

Travel Requirements:

  • 10% overnight travel (Travel expenses paid by Bastian Solutions)

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in provisioning, operations, and management of cloud environments.
  • Pipeline CI/CD tooling in Azure DevOps or GitHub
  • Container deployment and management with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Demonstrated competency with the following Azure PaaS Resource management including Redis, Cosmos DB, storage, Azure Service Bus, etc.
  • Demonstrated competency Terraform IaC for Azure
  • Experience in code development in at least one high-level programming language.
  • Knowledge of operating system administration.
  • Experience in creation of highly automated infrastructures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge regarding contemporary processes and methodologies for development and operations.
  • Strong understanding of how to secure cloud environments and meet compliance requirements.
  • Cloud Disaster Recovery design and deployment across regions a plus.
  • Experience with multi-tier architectures: load balancers, caching, web servers, application servers, databases, and networking.
