Job Summary
Atrium Health's Carolinas Hospitalist Group in Monroe, NC (suburb of Charlotte) is searching for a Physician to join our team at our Union location.
Position details include:
- Swing Shift work schedules of 7 on / 7 off, 2 pm - 12 am admin shifts
- 100% inpatient adult medicine, open ICU
- Total Hospitalist team of 15 physicians and 6 APPs
- Internal Medicine Board Certified.

Atrium Health Union is a 182-bed hospital in Monroe, NC, providing comprehensive emergency services and specialty medical care. The campus offers a variety of medical services, including a day surgery center, cancer treatment center, long-term care facility, behavioral health center, specialty care clinics, a community wellness and outreach program, a women and children's center, interventional heart program and physician practices. Over the past 15-plus years our hospital has been serving the Monroe area, and we have worked to add new services and more specialized physicians and programs to meet the growing healthcare needs of our community.
About the area:
Monroe is located 35 minutes from Charlotte International Airport and within 2 hours of driving to mountains, skiing, and multiple outdoor activities (boating, fishing, hunting). Union county has some of the highest rated public schools in North Carolina.
The Charlotte, North Carolina region is composed of 16 counties, including four counties in South Carolina, with the city of Charlotte serving as the hub. Located in the heart of the Southeast, Charlotte lies within the southern Piedmont of North Carolina, along the state's border with South Carolina. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Degree of MD or DO from accredited medical school
Board Eligibility in a clinical discipline is required; Board Certification in a clinical discipline is required within three years of start date/contract effective date; Once obtained, Maintenance of Certification is required

Essential Responsibilities/Functions:
* Performs medical history, physical examinations, routine assessments and determines treatment plan for patients.
* Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a timely and medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record
* Acts as a patient and family advocate for the population served
* Participates in continuous quality improvement priorities, service delivery processes and service excellence initiatives
* Adheres to access & productivity policies & protocols to ensure that patients' access to convenient care is optimized
* Adheres to standards and care protocols to deliver appropriate, innovative and cost-effective care management in-person and virtually
* Actively and regularly participates in the assigned meetings/committees
