Description

Our Client is seeking assistance on their shop floor and will be hiring an apprentice to train within their machine shop. This client is a manufacturing company of scrap and waste handling systems. This apprentice will learn drilling and machining of a variety of parts that go into creating industrial shredders, conveyor systems, trim cutters, and material handling fan systems. This contract role is located in Germantown, WI, pays $20 per hour works 6:30am-3:00pm M-F and based on good performance will result in full time hire with a full benefit plan.

The core of this business is creating bigger and better ways to destroy waste and move it out of an industrial setting. The current staff of 27 includes ownership, office, and the shop floor. In this role, the apprentice will work on a variety of projects, all customized to client needs.

Duties include - WILL TRAIN:

  • Set-up of work areas
  • Usage of tools and machines - will train.
    • Run drill press to drill/tap ripper wheels
    • Hand grind parts
    • Sit down forklift operation
    • Pallet jack operation
    • 4-head drill press operation
    • Drill holes, tap threads, spot face hole faces
  • Unload steel trucks with overhead crane
  • Drill holes, tap threads, spot face hole faces
  • Wipe down welded parts for prime painting
Qualifications
  • Good work ethic and ability to learn
  • Aptitude to work with machines and tools
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to use math and read a ruler (fractions)
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs and bend/reach to stack parts.
  • Must be able to wear safety glasses and steel toe shoes.
  • Must be able to work 6:30am-3:00pm 5 days a week.
  • Any machine experience is preferred but not required (drill, bandsaw, brake press, etc.)
