Location : Sparks, MD

Total Hours/week : 40.00( Mon- Fri)

Requirements of the Electronics Technician II

  • A High School diploma (or equivalent), good work history, interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Associate must have at least 2 years’ experience assembling medical instruments or similar devices.
  • Additional consideration will be given to associates with an Associate’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline, experience in manufacturing, biotechnology, electronics, and/or experience in a regulated (ISO or cGMP) environment.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing is desirable.

Skills and Aptitude:

  • Must possess familiarity with the operation and result interpretation of electronic test equipment including digital and analog multi-meters, power supplies, Hi-pot and Ground Impedance testers and Client fabricated test tooling.
  • Must be able to communicate technical information effectively co-workers including quality associates, manufacturing engineers and R&D engineers.
  • Must have the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently including building and testing instruments and spares simultaneously within specified time standards.
  • Must be able to effectively convey production information to co-workers and Team Leaders.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to recognize non-conformities to assembly drawings, and non-conformities to test specifications, and communicate this information to the appropriate Team Leader, Engineer, Test Technician or Quality Associate.
  • Must demonstrate the drive to achieve goals and improve performance and processes.
  • Must be able to pass required periodic skills certification requirements.
  • Must be able to effectively manage frequent assignment changes.
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to work effectively in a team setting to reach common goals.
  • The membership of these teams will be frequently changing and will include both new and tenured associates.

Responsibilities of the Electronics Technician II

  • Wire moderate to complex assemblies using engineering drawings. Identify mechanical and electrical components from engineering drawings and sketches.
  • Assemble and integrate mechanical and electrical assemblies using engineering drawings, manufacturing instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair functional electro-mechanical problems associated with assembly techniques and mechanical component failures.
  • Use precision mechanical measuring and basic electronic equipment to read measurements and results. Make critical mechanical adjustments to sub-assemblies and assemblies to ensure correct operation.
  • Set torque values on applicable tools from controlled documentation. Set up work areas consistent with drawings and/or procedures.
  • Consistently complete all necessary documentation with a high degree accuracy.
  • Demonstrate the ability to test systems of medical instruments across multiple platforms using Diagnostic and/or User software consistent with appropriate controlled documentation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to set up and operate applicable test tools for mechanical and electrical assemblies and instruments. Perform associated tasks within specified standard time requirements.

Complexity:

  • Uses independent analytical judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions relating to duties and responsibilities above.

Comments/Special Instructions

  • Overtime as required. Hourly pay rate will be based on education/experience. This position will be evaluated for a temporary to hire placement.

Compensation for the Electronics Technician II

  • The starting salary for this position ranges from $19.00-$24.00 per hour.
  • Hours are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
