Summary:

Under the supervision of the Cellar Lead, the Cellar Worker directly maintains the cellar and wine-producing operations. This includes but is not limited to the reception and processing of grapes to make wine, keeping the cellar sanitary and functioning daily. All Cellar workers are responsible for learning the company's Standard operation procedures (SOP's) with proper guidance.

Reports to: Cellar Lead and Cellar Supervisor

Classification: Full-Time Temp, Non-Exempt

Requirements

You Will:

  • Learn and understand cellar SOP's
Ex: Use of Personal Protective Equipment. (PPE)
  • Proper use of chemicals and handling.
  • Proper use and sanitation of wine production equipment:
Ex: Clamps, gaskets, valves, tanks, and hoses.
  • Proper use of pumps
Ex: air pump, Positive displacement pump, and centrifugal pumps.
  • Able to understand simple commands and able to ask questions if something is not clear.
  • Receive and understand written and verbal instructions
  • General cellar cleaning
  • Assist in the execution of all winery operations
  • Follow proper standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Working with a limited amount of supervision
  • Ability to be self-aware of safety at all times.
  • Prior cellar experience is preferred.
  • Forklift certification is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds over moderate distances.
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, reach, crawl and walk.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Identify and distinguish colors.
  • Ability to pull or push objects over moderate distances.
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Will work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Able to work overtime when needed.
  • The work environments can range from hot, damp, dry, and cold, depending on the time of year.
  • Will work near materials that will require personal protective equipment (i.e. respirators, goggles, gloves...etc.).
