We are supporting a Senior Director in our client's big data department. Our client has a host of initiatives and they're looking for strong engineer with big data experience to come and help them with these initiatives.

The main function of a Backend Java Engineer (Remote) is to design, develop, and implement web-based Java applications with complex backend system to support business requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
Analyze highly complex business requirements; generate technical specifications to design or redesign complex software components and applications
Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
Assure quality security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
Be flexible and thrive in an evolving environment
Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner
Mentor Junior resources on the team

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
8+ years of experience required on Web based solutions with Java backend services
API Design and development
Java or Python
Big data experience (spark, emr, athena)
Amazon RDS and S3 experience are a must have
Springboot
Experience in an Enterprise Production Environment is a must have
Optimizing queries
