Position Overview

Hyzon Motors Inc. (NASDAQ: HYZN) is a technology-driven hydrogen company with a singular mission to revolutionize energy by leveraging our leadership in fuel cell technology and building the hydrogen ecosystem. We are a global company focused on commercializing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in the trucking and logistics sector.

We are searching for an experienced Quality Engineer to lead fuel cell manufacturing quality control and quality assurance activities. The Quality Engineer will lead the internal manufacturing quality control, internal auditing, first article inspection (PPAP), and root cause analysis problem solving. The Quality Engineer will work with Hyzon’s Fuel cell production teams to ensure world class quality for Fuel cell system production.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality standards and quality control systems.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance.
  • Inspect and test incoming materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Collaborate with production teams to develop and implement controls and improvements.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot product or production quality issues.
  • Lead structured problem-solving activities (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, etc.) to resolve product quality issues, customer issues or audit findings, in a timely manner that prevents reoccurrence
  • Prepare and submit Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages ensuring all elements are met per customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement SPC activities, including originating objectives, goals and timetables, and implementing new techniques as they become available.
  • Track nonconforming material and lead Material Review Board (MRB) efforts. Interface and take lead QA role in interactions with suppliers, and contractors that supply components, subassemblies, and contract processing.
  • Perform internal quality audits based on ISO 9001 (or IATF 16949).
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • ASQ certification preferred.
  • Product or industry-specific experience such as fuel cell or battery.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools and systems (8D, 5 Why, FMEA and Control plans (PPAP), MSA, SPC and ISO 9001).
  • Ability to work in an international culturally diverse, fast paced, and dynamic environment
