Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced OpenShift/Kubernetes Architect or Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of hands-on experience in managing and architecting containerized environments using OpenShift and Kubernetes. This role requires strong skills in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, Go) and a deep understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration. The candidate will play a critical role in supporting our infrastructure-as-code (IaC) initiatives using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Helm, and will also need a solid understanding of cloud platforms and hybrid/multi-cloud environments. Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD is essential.

Key Responsibilities

OpenShift & Kubernetes Administration:

Manage and maintain OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and optimal performance.

Containerization & Orchestration:

Oversee containerization efforts using Docker and orchestrate containers with Kubernetes, ensuring proper deployment and management.

Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC):

Utilize Ansible, Terraform, and Helm to automate infrastructure provisioning and management, ensuring consistency and efficiency in deployment.

Cloud Platform Management:

Leverage AWS, Azure, or GCP to deploy and manage containerized applications in a cloud or hybrid/multi-cloud environment.

Networking & Service Mesh:

Implement and manage networking components such as DNS, load balancing, ingress controllers, and service meshes like Istio.

DevOps Practices:

Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD, GitOps, and automated deployment pipelines into the infrastructure, improving the overall software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in OpenShift or Kubernetes architecture/administration.
  • Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience working in hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
  • Deep knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, ingress controllers, and service mesh technologies like Istio.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Helm.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, GitOps, and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize containerized environments for maximum performance and stability.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications:

OpenShift or Kubernetes certification (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)).

Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or other relevant Red Hat certifications.

One or more of the following certifications is required:

Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or related certifications.
