About the Role

Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is looking for Civil Engineer II to join our Houston Office Team The Civil Engineer II will perform professional engineering work, including developmental assignments involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks under close supervision. The primary responsibility of the Civil Engineer II is to manage project engineering and document control from the site field office, concentrating on the schedule, budget updates, correspondence logs, and requests for information.

What You'll Do

*Prepares design computations, plans, and related construction documents.

*Prepares reports, specifications, studies, and permits.

*Analyzes and interprets various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

*Analyse and interpret engineering and construction documents, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

*Prepares quantity calculations and cost estimates.

*Prepares engineering and design documents using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment.

*Performs construction observation and prepares the appropriate documentation.

*Organizes and maintains project files and documentation.

*Assists in preparing and presenting technical information to colleagues and clients.

*Assists Project, Design, and/or Office Managers as requested.

*Handle multiple projects simultaneously.

*Ability to comprehend and apply advanced calculus, modern algebra, and statistical theory principles.

*Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

*Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

*Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

*Seeks out and targets potential clients and new sales opportunities.

*Actively engage clients consistently to maintain and promote work.

*Assists in the recruitment of new hires.

*Promotes and fosters excellence in all aspects of securing work for the firm and the delivery of services.

To Be Successful

*Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering required.

*Minimum three years of relevant transportation design experience - including but not limited to roadway, highway, and/or bridges

*Master's degree in civil engineering preferred

*EIT is preferred

*Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

*Fundamental knowledge of structural engineering.

*Proven leadership skills with engineering staff and organizations.

*Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

*Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment who can work on and contribute to several projects simultaneously.

Pay Range: $65,000 - $95,000 per year
