If so, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Expert who specializes in plant and/or process engineering to provide investigation, analysis, reports, and testimony where technical and scientific answers are needed to help resolve civil and criminal litigation and insurance claims.

Description:

The Mechanical Engineer will provide investigation, analysis, reports, and testimony where technical and scientific answers are needed to help resolve civil and criminal litigation, and insurance claims. Areas of potential litigation and claims include industrial equipment, safety (equipment, products, procedures), material handling, hand tools, and plant layouts. Typical workplace incidents investigated involve such issues as the lack of machine guarding, inadequate instructions, improper warnings, and lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Expertise must include design or specification of industrial equipment, material handling systems equipment operation and maintenance, utility systems (steam, water, air, gas, etc), and manufacturing processes with an emphasis in the gas/oil industry. Experience and training in the Reliability Centered maintenance process, failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), root cause failure analysis, and hazard analysis/risk assessments desirable.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited school required.
  • PE license preferred; those who are currently EIT/FE will be considered
  • 15+ years of manufacturing and production experience, including design, installation, start-up, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all types of industrial equipment.
  • Emphasis on experience in the gas/oil industry
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a comprehensive team.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
