Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee.

Our sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. Although based out of Nashville, we serve several communities across middle and East Tennessee with satellite offices in Antioch, Gallatin, Dickson, Columbia, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Memphis.

If so, we'd love to connect with you We are Mental Health Cooperative (MHC), and we're looking for an PRN Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) In this role you'll collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide psychiatric services to to consumers in our Emergency Psychiatric Services facility. You'll need a calm and focused mindset within an intense environment to improve consumer outcomes. You'll collaborate with other professionals to develop and manage care plans that will prevent complications, identify changes in consumer condition, and intervene to stabilize consumers. You'll be a champion of excellence in consumer care who can contribute to a diverse population and understands importance of consistent quality care to every consumer.

To join our team, you'll need:

  • A collaborative spirit coordinating psychiatric aspects of treatment with Mental Health staff (Psychiatrist, Nurse, Mental Health Specialist, & Discharge Planner)
  • Strong medical assessment skills to evaluate and diagnose individuals who are experience a psychiatric emergent/urgent or routine condition in a correctional setting
  • Deep knowledge of pharmacological treatment for consumers including prescribing medications and proper follow-up
  • Attention to detail to document relevant consumer care that upholds to professional standards and ethical clinical charting
  • Tennessee licensed APN with Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Certification

This position requires all PRN employees to work one shift per pay period
