Mobile Response Team PRN Mobile Crisis Clinician is an hourly position, nonexempt, non-benefits eligible, and not currently open for internal BNC applicants. Hourly pay is $50 with applicable shift differentials. The MRT operates 18/7/365 with plans to expand operation hours. Shift Differentials are part of supporting Crisis Services needs for extended hours of coverage.
The PRN Mobile Crisis Clinician serves as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) of the Mobile Response Team within our Crisis Services Division of BNC. As a PRN teammate on MRT, you understand the need for applicants to maintain professionalism, flexibility, dependability, and predictable PRN attendance. 4 shifts per calendar month is the minimum preferred. There is special need of Sunday-Saturday evening/nights, though all days and shifts of the week are seeking in-person PRN coverage.
The primary responsibility will be to safely respond in partnership with MRT teammates to provide solution-focused and recovery-oriented interventions at the point of a behavioral health crisis or concern in the community. The MRT responds to a broad range of community needs including high acuity individuals or those with complex circumstances benefitting from clinical assessment, safety wellness recovery action planning, and crisis stabilization. The ability to assess for, recognize, and effectively respond to potential or actual risks is essential. The goal of the services provided is to support individuals remaining in the community or the least restrictive setting safely, whenever possible.
Crisis Services needs for extended hours of coverage and apply as follows:
- Day Shift is defined as any hours worked between 8am - 3pm; Evening Shift is defined as any hours worked between 3:00pm and 11:00pm; Night Shift is defined as any hours worked between 11:00pm and 2:00am
- Evening shift differential $2.50, Night shift differential $3.50
- Weekend shifts are defined as being worked between 11 pm Friday through 2am Monday
- Weekend Day shift differential $2.50
- Weekend Evening shift differential $4.50, Weekend Night shift differential $5.25
- PRN employees who are scheduled and have worked hours on a holiday as observed by MRT will be compensated at 2x their base hourly rate, plus any applicable differential as outlined above
- Response must occur within 45 minutes of contact being made
- Staff will be able to assess, make clinical decisions, and are willing provide deescalating skills in intense situations
- Complete emergent crisis assessments, state mental health screens, Douglas County Jail assessments
- Aid in access to recommended services such as inpatient hospitalization, substance abuse services, outpatient therapy, child rehabilitation services, adult rehabilitation services, and psychiatric services
- Collaborate with BNC MRT colleagues, our broader organization, and other outside providers in the coordination of appropriate service and level of care
- Meet and comply with all administrative and clinical documentation requirements for clinical staff
- Must have and maintain full Kansas licensure with BSRB, fulfill job duties in a timely manner.
- Must be located geographically in Douglas County for entirety of shift duration to ensure consistent and efficient crisis response team.
- Must be willing to collaborate and coordinate with local law enforcement/EMS/hospital emergency department/multidisciplinary community partners as appropriate and necessary to coordinate care and ensure a safe environment for the patient and staff providing mental health support and assessment.
- Complete all required trainings (KS Train, Relias, Basic CPR, First Aid, CPI) and onboarding in full within 30 days, establish and maintain a working competency in the management and use of the Center's electronic medical record (EMR) software as demonstrated by timely and accurate documentation of the clinical record
