A growing health services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Pediatrician to join their growing team in Staten Island. In this role, the Pediatrician will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients and participating in planning and developing healthcare services for each patient.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: November
- Assignment Length: 3-4 months
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (no evenings or weekends)
- Setting: Outpatient Community Health Center
The Pediatrician will:
- Take histories, perform physical examinations, and prescribe treatment and medication for conditions falling in the scope of his /her specialty following evidence-based standard of care
- Provide off hours and hospital coverage for Health Center patients where contractually obligated to do so
- Design and participate in quality improvement activities, including Medical Record Peer Review, performance and procedure audits, outcome audits, and focused reviews
- Provide supervision for clinical activities of medical providers and medical documentation in his/her department, including but not limited to review of protocols, telephone triage, follow-up procedures
- Set standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening; participate in the development of programs to carry out these standards
- Maintain legible and appropriate documentation of medical records
- Participates and attends provider meetings
- Provide safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards
- Perform other duties, as needed
- Licensed to practice State of New York
- Board Eligible / Certified in Pediatrics
