Sr. Lead Software Engineer

This is a REMOTE role, MUST reside in the eastern time zone.

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technical direction and execution of our software projects. You will lead a team of software engineers, guiding them through the development lifecycle while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. Your expertise in software architecture, development methodologies, and team leadership will be essential in shaping our products and achieving our business goals.

Experience needed:

  • 6+ years dev experience
  • Experience leading teams of developers (10 -15 devs) across multiple projects (2 - 3 projects) simultaneously
  • Experience conducting code reviews
  • Experience creating Enterprise grade designs across multiple applications and service boundaries
Responsibilities:

TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of software engineers.
  • Lead by example through hands-on involvement in software development, code reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices, coding standards, and development methodologies within the team.
SOFTWARE ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define software requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Design robust, scalable, and maintainable software architectures that align with business objectives and future scalability needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to support development efforts.
DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION:
  • Lead the implementation of complex software features and modules, ensuring adherence to coding standards, performance requirements, and project timelines.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in software development processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
TEAM COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION:
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing, open communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams, QA teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery of integrated software solutions.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies effectively to management and stakeholders.
QUALITY ASSURANCE AND TESTING:
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to define testing strategies, automated test suites, and quality metrics.
  • Ensure thorough testing of software components, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests, to maintain product quality and reliability.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with Transportation, LTL preferred
  • 6+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on leading software engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as PL/SQL, .NET CORE, MVC, WCF Services
  • Expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and system integration principles.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentorship, coaching, and team building.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on schedule and within budget.
