VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Technician Assistant for our overnight shift within our busy and growing 24 hour emergency department. We are a fast paced, AAHA-accredited, 24 hour emergency and specialty hospital located in Norwalk, CT.

The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.

In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.

Day to day responsibilities of the veterinary technician assistant include : feeding and caring for dogs and cats, walking dogs, bathing dogs, restraint and handling of dogs and cats for minor procedures, cleaning cages, cleaning and maintaining the hospital premises, cleaning hospital instruments and equipment, restocking supplies, setting up supplies for basic procedures and assisting our doctors and technicians when necessary.

Candidates for this position must be organized, flexible, ability to work independently in addition to being a team player. We manage high caseloads in a fast-paced environment so it is also important that the candidate be able to work efficiently in times of stress.

Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday, 10pm - 8am
